H.D.I.G. collaborate with a dynamic network of researchers, programmers, designers, journalists, educators, and students. The group is a project of Matthew Conlen, started in 2022. Matthew received his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Washington where he was advised by Jeffrey Heer. He has worked with the New York Times, NASA JPL, CNN, the New Yorker, FiveThirtyEight, and others.
